First Steps and Key Decisions in Game Development

Game development is a challenging but exciting journey. It takes more than just technical skills-passion, strategy, and teamwork are key to success. A great game is built by people who love what they do, take creative risks, and plan every step carefully. And if you want to stand out in the mobile gaming market, a strong vision and solid experience are essential.

At this point, the experience we gained at GoArt served as a roadmap for us. The project management skills, understanding of user expectations, and technical expertise we developed there gave us a strong foundation when starting our own studio.

The first steps we took in starting our own game studio were simple but strategic. We began by forming a small core team, then created a project plan by making the most of our limited resources.

When building the studio, our main priorities were choosing the right equipment, defining team roles, and creating a sustainable business model. At this stage, we realized we needed to grow both technically and as entrepreneurs.

The Development Process of Our First Game Idea

Our first game started with a simple goal: to offer something fun and meaningful. But turning an idea into a real game isn’t always easy. We faced some challenges during development, but each one taught us something new.

Getting feedback and improving based on it directly boosted our game’s quality. In the end, these challenges helped us grow and work more professionally.

Key Milestones in the Journey of RoofGames

The first major turning point for RoofGames was the unexpected interest in the demo of our first game. The feedback we received confirmed that we were on the right track. Game expos, connections with indie developer communities, and small partnerships became key milestones in our growth.

Each success gave us the confidence to aim higher. As a result, our team expanded, our projects diversified, and RoofGames began to grow into a recognizable brand.

Our First Steps into the Gaming World

After taking those strategic first steps in our game development journey, we finally released our first projects to players. Each game had its own dynamics and target audience, combining experimental ideas with fun gameplay.

With mobile games like Floppy Foot and Magic Marbles, and our upcoming PC/console title Olpamis, we improved our technical skills and learned how to reach different player profiles. Each game gave us valuable feedback on development, marketing, and user experience. This helped us build on what we learned and improve with every new project.
